Track who the asset was assigned to

By

AnyDB

The AnyDB IT Asset Assignment template tracks the assignment history and approval status of individual IT assets. It works in tandem with the IT Asset parent template to provide clear visibility into who an asset is assigned to, when the assignment occurred, and whether the transfer has been approved. This supports accountability and traceability across IT and operations workflows.

Description

Each record in this template represents a single assignment event. It logs the assigned user, assignment date, assigned team, and approving manager. It also automatically pulls in contextual data from the parent asset record, including the asset name and asset cost.

The template includes a checkbox for manager approval and a name field for the approver. Visual badges reflect:

  • Assigned user name
  • Assigned date
  • Approval status (color-coded for easy dashboard use)

This template also includes an admin cell that stores the assigned user and assignment date in a structured object for internal references or summary calculations in the parent template.
